Trunk Or Treat!

Our Ward had its Trunk or Treat last night. The girls looked so stinkin cute! Claire is Sleeping Beauty and Carlie is Cinderella! I was worried about Carlie not wearing her costume. The night we bought it, I put it on her to try on, with out a shirt underneath, she wore it for a few minutes, then begged for us to take it off, because it was too itchy. Since then, she hasnt wanted to wear her costume at all. Claire on the other hand has worn it almost every day since we got it. I did FORCE Carlie to try on her costume last week, and she screamed and threw a hissy fit the entire time she had it on. So, I was a little worried. But last night, she put it on with out a fight!

The girls had SO much fun! Claire would say 'thank you' after she got her treat from each person, and if that person didnt say 'your welcome' she would say thank you a little louder!! It was hillarious! They got tons of candy, and I am having a hard time staying away from it!

(excuse my pictures being in the wrong order again. blogspot is being LAME right now and posting them opposite of the way I upload them. rude)

Here's the girls, my sister and our friend Kara that my sister babysits.

Claire was SO upset right before we left the house. I kept telling her how cute she looked, and she just started crying! She didnt want her picture taken at all.

Carlie on the other hand totally loved having her picture taken! She loved having her hair done, and loved that I let her wear lip gloss.

Cold Stone

After the Pumpkin Patch, I took the girls to Cold Stone. I realized that they havent ever been taken out for ice cream before!! They got pink ice cream (strawberry) with sprinkles of course!

Pumpkin Patch

Tuesday I took the girls to the Pumpkin Patch. They were so excited!

The girls got on the first ride, and it moved a little, and they both FREAKED out! So, I had to get them down.

The girls LOVED the petting zoo. The girls got to feed the goats and sheep. They even saw a few bunnies, and some chickens!

After the petting zoo, we headed over to the bounce house.

And then a train ride! There were so many kids, I wasnt able to ride with the girls. SO they sat in the chair and went without me!

The girls had so much fun, and cant stop talking about petting the goats and sheeps. Thanks for inviting us Nicci!

**edit** sorry, the pictures arent in the right order with the captions. Im sure you all can figure out with picture goes with each caption! im too lazy to FIX IT!

Buying Shoes.

I am very picky when it comes to my kids shoes. I guess you could call me a shoe snob? Anyway, I have been searching and searching for the right pair of casual shoes for the girls. When they were younger, they had a pair of super cute white converses. I havent been able to find those same ones in their size. So they got these pink chucks (they are similar to the ones in the picture, the ones they got are just slip ons). They wear a ton of pink, and they will go with just about everything they have for winter. The only bad thing, they dont come in HALF sizes! A size 7 is too small, they need a 7 1/2! So, they are wearing an 8. They look a little big, but they should grow into them in a few weeks.

Where do you get your kids shoes? Do you buy them a little big and let the grow into them?

Banana Muffins

I think the baking bug has hit me!

I noticed I had a few bananas that were going bad, so I turned to allrecipes.com and found a pretty easy recipe! I didnt have enough mashed banana, so I added some applesauce. I used a muffin pan rather than a loaf pan, and cooked them for 25 minutes and they turned out great! They are moist on the inside, and a little crispy in the outside! PERFECTION!

Pumpkin Choc-Chip Cookies!

I made these AWESOME cookies the other day! (Yes, that is MY actual pictures of the cookies I made!)

I got the recipe from www.allrecipes.com But, I added my own touch.

Ingredients:
1 c canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix. i had to call my SIL Amy to verify this)
1 c white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
2 c all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used a little more than 2 cups)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional, and I opted not)
**I added a few sprinkles of Nutmeg**

Directions:
1. Combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil and egg. in a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking POWDER, cinnamon, and salt. (and add nutmeg, if you want) Dissolve baking soda with the milk, and stir in. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and mix well.

2. Add vanilla and chocolate chips (and nuts)

3. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until lightly brown and firm.

They will be cake like, and OH SO GOOD!

I am going to have to make these again, and take them to the ladies I visit teach!

Carving Pumpkins!

Last night we carved Pumpkins with the Wysons! The girls really had fun scooping out the pumpkin guts! Aaron made a skeleton (side profile) and didnt use a guide, he just eye-balled it. The girls wanted me to make a ghost, so I used the guide. They turned out pretty good, and of course we had a great time! Thanks for coming over Joey and Cachay! As always, we had fun!

(sorry for the red-eyes, im too lazy to edit my photos.)

Claire and Carlie

Carter tagged the girls! Heres a little info about them!

Name and Meaning:
Claire Elizabeth : Claire means clear and bright. I didnt even look at the meaning of her name before I decided on it. I babysat a little girl named Claire, that I just LOVED. And I always said I was going to name my daughter after her! Her middle name is from my neice Elizabeth.

Carlie Rae: Carlie means womanly? (lame!) Carlie got her name, from ... its kind of a funny story! I was standing at work one day chatting with the ladies about what I was going to name the twins, one of my co-workers mentioned Carlie, and it stuck. It was MY idea to spell her name with the same letters in Claires name. (im cool like that) Her middle name is Rae, which is MY middle name.

Age: 3 years 1 month and 3 weeks.

Nicknames:
Claire: Claire Bear, Clairita, snuggle bug, love bug, sissy.
Carlie: Carlie bug, Carlita, Carlie Marlie/Barlie, Car Car, sissy.

Favorite Activities: watching movies, playing hopskotch outside, anything outside, playing at the park, coloring.

Favorite Foods: oatmeal, apples, cheese, carrotts, carlie loves red onions, french fries, cereal, pirate booty, raisins, craisins, pumpkin bread.

Least Favorite Food: they dont really dislike anything.

Music: Laurie Berkner, The Backyardigans soundtrack, Enchanted Soundtrack, Primary Songs.

Favorite Toy: The girls are really into horses right now. They also love kitties and puppies!

What makes them happy?: Going to the Park, playing outside, coloring, milk, their blankies, certain stuffed animals, seeing Aunts, and cousins, and grandparents.

What makes them sad?: Being told 'no'. Sitting in timeout. Getting yelled at. (hey, it happens)

Now we tag: Jazlyn (Kristy), Taylor (Kara), Spencer and David (Autumn).

Too funny!

CLAIRE just ran up to me saying she wanted to pee on the potty!! So, we ran to the bathroom, took off her diaper, I sat her on the potty. She waits a second. Says. "I cant hear it!". I tell her to try for a few seconds, then she says "mommy, my pee is sleeping, lets put a diaper back on." HAHAHAHA!

Hopefully when her pee 'wakes up' she'll let me know, and I can get HER to sit on the potty!

(p.s. Carlie has stayed dry for many days!)

YAY!

I FINALLY finished scrapbooking the girls first year!! One down, TWO to go!

Baking Cookies

Yesterday I got this crazy idea to bake cookies with the twins! I made the dough AND frosting from scratch! The girls loved rolling the dough and using the cookie cutters. We made pumpkins, moons, bats and ghosts! The bats and ghosts looked nothing like bats and ghosts, but whatever. The girls HAD to have pink and purple frosting. It was messy, but oh so fun!

Recipe for Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
1 c butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 egg
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

(I didnt have almond extract, so i just added 1/2tsp of vanilla)

1.) Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
(I added a little more flour than what it called for after I mixed everything together. it seemed a little goo-ey. that would have been fine if I wasnt planning on rolling the dough out to use cookie cutters. and definatly refrigerate)

2. Heat oven to 375. lightly grease cookie sheet. (I just tossed on some flour)
3. Divde dough in half. Roll each half 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured surface. cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters

4. Bake 7-8 minutes or until edges are light brown. Remove, and cool on wire rack.
(I didnt cook mine for that long. I like my cookies a little chewy. not crunchy.)

Cream Cheese Frosting

1/2 c butter softened.
8 oz cream cheese
4 cups confectioners sugar
2 tsp vanilla

1. Beat butter and cream cheese until well blended
2. add pwdered sugar and vanilla. beat till creamy.

Tagged.

I was tagged by my sister in law AMY! (sorry, i dont know how to make a clicky)

*Link to the person who tagged you
*Post the rules on your blog
*Write six random things about yourself
*Tag six-ish people at the end of your post
*Let each person know he/she has been tagged
*Let the tagger know when your entry is up

1. I would much rather stay home and watch a movie, than go to the movies. I CAN NOT remember the last movie I saw in theatres! My sisters and husband make fun of me for this, but thats just the way it is!

2. When doing the dishes, I have to rinse off all the food residue before I put the dish in the dishwasher. I know dishwashers CAN get all the food off, but Id rather just do it myself.

3. I LOVE to watch cooking shows, read cook books, and look at food websites. But I dont really cook. I mean, I make the girls dinner, but its nothing exciting. Its just kid food. I dont dislike cooking, I just dont think im good at it, so I dont do it. Its a good thing Aaron loves to cook!

4. I have to crack/pop my back before I go to sleep. I twist to the right first, plug in my cell phone, then twist to the left. After I do that, I can go to sleep!

5. I always get emotional during the 4th of July celebrations. I cant sing the National Anthem, or say the Pledge of Allegiance, or watch Fireworks without getting a little emotional. Its kind of funny. I get emotional singing certain church Hymns as well.

6. I would love to be a back up singer for someone(Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake -he does have female singers- etc.etc) I dont like to be in the spot light, but I love to sing.

Now I tag: Sarah (Taylor) Hubbard, Sarah W., Kristy E., Lauren S., Kara W, and my cousin Melissa.

The Dunes

Yesterday we went out to Logandale with my family and met up with my cousin and her family! We went out to the Dunes, rode 4-wheelers, rode in the Ranger, and played in the sand! The weather was pretty yucky in the morning, but by mid afternoon, the sun came out, and it was perfect! Everyone had a great time, and we look forward to doing this again!

New Twilight Trailer!

Potty Traning Day 4

(I think this is my last potty training post!)

Carlie is doing really well! She stays dry during nap time, and is really good about telling ME when she needs to go potty. She hasnt gone poop in the potty yet, but I know what times she poops, so hopefully I can catch her before she goes in the underwear. We even left the house yesterday, and she didnt have any pee accidents while we were gone! YAY!

Painting Pumpkins with Grandma Chloe!

Yesterday Grandma Chloe and Grandpa KC came over to paint pumpkins! The girls have been SO excited to do this! The girls sat and painted for over an hour! It was a lot of fun, a little messy, but well worth it!

Look at those SMILES!! The girls had such a good time!

At The Park.

After the Bellagio, we took the girls to the park! We had a blast!!
