All better!

For the past year or so, Claires blankie has slowly torn into MANY pieces. I have asked her a ton of times if she wanted me to sew them back together, and she has always said NO. So this morning she asked me to wash her blankies (which never happens. normally I have to sneak them into the wash, and she usually finds out they are in the washer, and cries BY the washer till they are done!) So, since we were washing them, I asked if we could go to my moms house and sew them back together, and she said YES! So, I jumped on the opportunity, ironed them, and headed out the door.

Heres 4 of the smaller strips. Im sure we have more around the house, but these were the ones I found today.

The finished product. Its not perfect, and we didnt dare cut the left side to be even with the right side. But hey, her blankie is in ONE piece now! yay!

Pioneer Day Parade

My parents Stake participates in a Tri-Stake Pioneer Day Parade! It was pretty fun!
These Missionaries carried this HUGE flag. And this is where I started crying. I cry at Parades, and during Firework shows ...
The girls LOVE Firetrucks. This also happens to be the Bishop and his wife, of my parents ward. (Julie and my mom have been good friends for as long as I can remember!)

Carlie says some of the most RANDOM things ever. I probably shouldnt blog about this, but its just too funny.

This afternoon we were at Aarons dads house swimming, and we had gone inside to get ready to go home. Carlie was walking around saying that she wanted to toot. I asked her why, and she said "because I want to make their house stink" SERIOUSLY kid?? It was so 'stinkin' funny!!!!

That girl cracks me up!

This parenting stuff is hard!

Lately, I am having a hard time with the girls. It seems like no matter what, they just dont listen to me! I can yell and scream at them, or whisper and they dont listen. It drives me crazy! I think our next FHE is going to be on Listening, following directions, saying nice things, and keeping our hands and feet to our selves. (Claire has a scratching/kicking problem, Carlie pushes and hits... lovely huh?) I am looking for a good chore chart to make. Im also going to try out the Glass Jar thing, where you put a marble in when they do something good, and take out marbles when they do something bad. Im sure they will "loose their marbles" often, and Im sure I have already lost all of my marbles!! haha (sorry, I couldnt help myself!)

I've also decided I am going to STOP yelling. I yell so much these days. I sometimes wonder if my neighbors can hear me. If so, thats pretty embarrassing! So, i've gone almost 3 days without yelling. It is SO hard for me!

Does anyone have a good Chore Chart template?? Or any advice/methods on how to make kids listen?!

4th of July Weekend.

For the 4th of July weekend, we went up to Parowan again! It was really relaxing, and a lot of fun! We got up there Friday around noon, and right away got the Slip'N'Slid set up for the girls, so Aaron and I could work on the garden. The girls didnt really slid on the Slip'N'Slid, but they had fun running in the sprinkler part.

After dinner we went outside to light a few sparklers. The girls werent too thrilled with them this year.




Saturday morning (4th of July) We headed out to the Parowan 4th of July Parade on Main St.!

There were TONS of people!

All of the participants in the parade threw candy and stuff to all the specators! We had no idea they did that! But the girls enjoyed running and getting their little treasures!

Claire was pretty happy about how much stuff she got!

After the Parade, the girls played in the backyard while Aaron, my dad, and I worked on the Garden. Well, my dad didnt do yard work, but he watched and played with the girls! That was a TON of help! Aaron enjoyed riding the tractor. I pulled a bunch of weeds from one of the rows of corn, but I stopped after I found a HUGE spider on my leg. EW!

The twins LOVE going to the park that is across the street from the house in Parowan! My dad taught the girls how to swing on the big girl swings! They still like to be pushed though!

When it finally started to get dark, we headed over to Larry and Cindys house (Aarons Aunt and Uncle) to watch Fireworks!

Sunday morning we got up and headed out to Duck Creek for a little hike.

We stopped in Cedar Breaks to check out the view from the Vistors Center.

After we visited Cedar Breaks, we went down to Duck Creek, and took a little walk around the little lake. The girls love throwing rocks in the water, and watching people fish.




We had a great weekend! The weather was great, we have a lot of fun, and we enjoyed having my dad up there!
